KCR to revoke restrictions on constructions Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao favoured scrapping of disputed government order (GO Ms No. 111), which imposes restrictions on any construction activity in the catchment area of the twin reservoirs of Osmansagar (Gandipet) and Himayatsagar.
KCR was reacting to the suggestion made by Congress MLA from Chevella K Yadaiah who joined the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the morning.
Yadaiah wanted the Chief Minister to cancel the GO or make any other changes since there were lands but no activity was being carried out in 84 villages because of the government order.
Agreeing with Yadaiah's suggestion, the Chief Minister described the GO as unproductive which has been hampering the development of villages in the catchment areas of the two lakes. He, however, said the scrapping of the GO was not his government's purview and it had to be addressed by the Union Environment Ministry.
He said there was no need of restrictions on all the 84 villages and a few villages can be removed, he assured to form a committee under chief secretary and also a committee with MLAs for reviewing the order and making a request to the Centre.
Stating that the government had allocated funds for Green house /poly house farming the chief minister gave suggestion to the farmers to utilize the opportunity as it would be free for Dalit farmers and there would be 90 subsidy to the BCs and 80 percent to the other communities.
There was scope for farmers to earn in lakhs with the Green House cultivation and this would also ensure all the vegetable needs of Hyderabad would come from Rangareddy district. The Chief Minister assured to construct a 200-bedded hospital in Chevella and 100 bedded hospital in Shankarpally area as requested by the Chevella MLA.
'People have lot of expectations on Telangana State, which cannot be fulfilled in overnight but would be achieved gradually and this was also admitted by Yadaiah himself,' KCR said.
He said that the government would provide un-interrupted power after three years and also added that the government would provide drinking water to every household in Telangana from Godavari and Krishna after four years. 'If few cannot provide water after four years we will not go to the people for asking votes,' KCR said.
Yadaiah said that the works done by the Chief Minister and the goal of Bangaru Telangana had made him to join the TRS. He said that former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had given him recognition. He also urged the Chief Minister to give approval for a Junior and Degree College in Chevella. 'If I can get these demands fulfilled then I can have the respect of coming into the ruling party,' said Yadaiah.
