Yadagirigutta will be developed as Vatican HYDERABAD: The temple town of Yadagirigutta, the abode of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy will be developed on the lines of Vatican City and on par with Tirupati with autonomous powers. This was disclosed by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao after a high level review meeting. He also announced construction of a statue of Lord Hanuman, which would be the biggest in India.
The Chief Minister directed that the officials prepare a comprehensive plan of action for transforming the Yadagirigutta temple a la Vatican City. He appointed retired IAS officer G Kishen Rao as special officer of the project.
He suggested that the entire temple be gold-plated and the height of the Gopuram be elevated, as it is now being overshadowed by other buildings. The government will make use of 2,000 acres of land to transform Yadagirigutta with an attractive Kalyana Mandapam, Vedic and Sanskrit schools, greenery and fragrant trees, lawns, landscaping, big buildings to provide accommodation to pilgrims and other development activities, he said.
KCR said the government would discourage private buildings near the temple premises. The temple area will be connected with Regional Ring Road being planned to build beyond Outer Ring Road. As part of the project, the nearby hillocks and lakes and water bodies will be developed into tourist spots, he added.
