TS Govt to computerise all market yards Hyderabad, Nov 20 (INN): Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao has said that the State Government proposes to computerise all the markets yards in Telangana State.
In his reply to a question raised by MLA A Venkateshwar Reddy during Question Hour in the State Legislative Assembly on Thursday, Harish Rao said that the automization of all the functional market yards by introducing e-tendering by replacing manual auctions and tender systems will bring in transparency in market transactions.
If the Takpatties are computerised, there shall not be any scope of manipulation of facts and figures. The open auction system would be replaced by electronic auction, suing the trading platform. All registered traders of the APMC would be enrolled as participants in e-auctioning, he said.
The minister said that all the produce arriving in the market would be registered with unique code number. It will be tracked till the lot goes out of Agriculture Market Committee. Hence, assessment of Market Fee will be foolproof.
For each lot auctioned through e-trading platform, the bids offered by traders would be transparently displayed in display boards, so that farmer know the exact price, weight and value of their produce along with receipt issued in the Market Committee.
Harish Rao said that the government has permitted to introduce e-Tendering in 5 AMCs of Telangana State. They are Khammam, Nizamabad, Warangal, Miryalguda and Kasamudram as pilot project in Nizamabad and Khammam all the necessary equipment and software is put in place and test runs are being conducted. He said that computerisation of 20 to 30 AMCs would be taken up in one year.
