Worlds Tallest Tower to be built in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, Nov 22 (INN): Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has given his nod for the construction of world's tallest tower at Sanjeevaiah Park on the banks of Hussainsagar.
The Chief Minister held a five-hour long meeting with the top officials including Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma to discuss the plans for beautification of Hussainsagar.
The officials submitted the list of identified properties, along with their maps, where skyscrapers could be constructed. It has been decided to construct skyscrapers at 40 locations by expanding the area by 100 acres.
The identified areas/buildings include Bhudda Bhavan, Raniganj Bus Depot, Lower Tankbund, Kundan Bagh, Patigadda, Sailing Club, Youth Hostel, Raghav Sadan, Narsing Colony, Dilkusha Guest House, Greenlands, New MLA Quarters, Electricity Bhavan, Textbook Printing Press, Reddy Hostels, Burgula Ramakrishna Rao Building, Expotel and Snow World.
Since all these properties are owned by the State Government and involves no dispute, the Chief Minister hopes to implement his plans without any glitches. However, the Chief Minister made it clear that entire construction activity will be taken up outside the area of Hussainsagar.
Further, it has been decided to stop the flow of drainage water and other pollutants into Hussainsagar. Therefore, KCR has directed the officials to call for tenders for construction of separate canals to divert the drainage water to other area. Rs 100 crore are likely to be spent for the same.
The Chief Minister has also decided to convene a meeting with the elected representatives and Ganesh Utsav Samithi officials to convince them to stop immersion of Ganesh idols. Instead, he said that the idols could be immersed in the new lake, Vinayaka Sagar, which will be constructed near Indira Park.
KCR said that complete desiltation of Hussain Sagar lake would be taken up and steps will be taken to restore its original depth. He said cleaning of Hussainsagar would be given top priority.
The Chief Minister also constituted a Sub-Committee which will be headed by the Chief Secretary and have senior IAS officials SK Joshi, Raymond Peter and Nagi Reddy as its members. It will coordinate the implementation of plans for beautification of Hussainsagar and construction of skyscrapers around the historic lake.
