Minister vows to end BIE-Pvt Colleges nexus Hyderabad, Nov 25 (INN): Telangana Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy has expressed resolve to end the nexus between private educational institutions and Board of Intermdiate Education.
While replying to a question in the State Assembly during Question Hour, the minister alleged that some private educational institutions, which are run by Seemandhra investors, have a strong influence over Board of Intermediate Education.
He said some officials have been trying to break the system in order to benefit the private institutions. However, he said that the government would take immediate measures to end the nexus. He said despite bifurcation, the Telangana Government was finding it difficult to release separate scheduled for intermediate examinations.
Earlier, the minister denied of any irregularities in the Telugu Akademy. Answering a question raised by Congress MLA Ch Vamshichand Reddy, he informed that the Telugu Akademy was purchasing the paper by tender notification.
"For the adademic year 2013-14, white paper cost is Rs 51,700 per ton. Multi-colour printing cost is increased from 45 paise to 75 paise," he said. For the academic year 2014-15, all the Telugu Medium 1st year intermediate books have been published and distributed in time.
After the receipt of syllabus, the Telugu Akademi has published books pertaining to Social Studies. He also admitted that some private publishers were making a killing as Telugu Akademi books had no copyrights.
