Warne wants to coach Team India New Delhi: Legendary Australian leg spinner Shane Warne has said he wants to coach the Indian cricket team, saying he will enjoy working with M.S. Dhoni's boys. 'It's tough to replace Gary Kirsten as a coach. He has been a very good coach, said Warne, adding, 'It won't be difficult to work with the Indian team now. I think I'll enjoy working with the Indian team.'
Part of the famous 'invincibles' under Steve Waugh's reign as Australian captain, Warne helped his team win the World Cup in 1999 beating Pakistan in a one-sided game.
Warne is widely regarded as one of the greatest bowlers in the history of the game. He retired from international cricket in January 2007. In March 2008, Warne signed to play in the Indian Premier League for the Jaipur team in the first edition of the tournament, where he played the roles of both captain and coach.
Kirsten on Tuesday officially stepped down as the coach of the Indian cricket team and said that working with M.S. Dhoni and his boys had been one of the most cherished moments of his life. Kirsten quit immediately after India lifted the WC beating Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday.
