SEIKO debuts as partner of Mumbai Marathon


 
Mumbai: Procam International, India's leading sports management and marketing company today announced the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon's (SCMM) association with timing major SEIKO as Official 'Timing Partner' of the event. This is the first year that SEIKO is partnering India's leading and Mumbai's most awaited annual sporting and social event.

Over the years, the most respected brands have partnered SCMM for the transformational role it plays in bringing individuals, organizations and institutions together. As a leading partner of timing services and sports sponsorships, SEIKO has been the choice of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) at its major Championships, supplying timing and measurement services to over 150 IAAF events in every corner of the
globe since 1985.

Speaking about the partnership, Vivek Singh, Jt. MD, Procam International said, 'New and existing associations draw attention to the trust and belief Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon partners place in the event on an ongoing basis. I am delighted that the event will have the support of a international brand like SEIKO as Official 'Timing Partner".

'As a global brand, we have been associated for many years with leading sporting events, teams and individuals all over the world. Sport, and in particular athletics, is at the heart of the SEIKO brand. By attracting the world's top distance runners to India, the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon has sparked a running revolution in this country. ' said Atsushi Kaneko, President of Seiko India.

This January, once again, Mumbai will witness a bigger, better and stronger marathon where runners from across the world will come together to participate in 7 categories that will include the main Marathon, DHL Corporate Champions, Police Cup, Half Marathon, Dream Run, Sr. Citizens' Run, and Champions with Disability. Approximately 40,000 professional athletes, serious runners, and health and fitness enthusiasts from different corners of the globe and Mumbai are expected to participate in the event. This will include many of the world's best long distance athletes.
