Post offices to sell non-judicial stamp papers Hyderabad, Aug 6 (INN): With a view of end black-marketing and ensure easy availability, the Telangana Stamps and Registration Department on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding with Postal Department to provide non-judicial stamps papers at 859 computerised post office across Telangana State.
The non-judicial stamps papers will be sold on face value available from September 1. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali said would provide easy access to the parties and curb the artificial scarcity of stamps in the market.
The Deputy CM also informed that the Stams and Registration Department was striving hard to reform the public services and their delivery mechanism. He said that the Department, with the help of National Informatics Centre (NIC), has developed some modules to enable the citizen to transact with the department with more ease and his convenience. He said an improved web-portal has been launched which provides various services and information. Presently, the website is in English language only although it provides certain information in Telugu and Urdu also. The users can post complaints/suggestions on the website.
The web-portal enables the users to enter important details like Names of the Parties, Property information including boundaries, consideration, market value, annexures, etc., from their own place by accessing through department website. Parties may fix their timeslot for registration of their document in any SRO. This can be done by selecting available timeslot and office. Timeslots are available up to 2.15 pm every working day. Ideally it takes 15 minutes to complete the process so each timeslot is given 15 minutes of time.
The Deputy CM also informed that on pilot basis, SRO Bowenpally is going to be early shift office (from 8 am to 2.30 pm) and SRO Marredpally is going to be late shift office (from 2.30 pm to 9 pm) from August 17 onwards. This is being done to facilitate the parties even to access the registration services right from early hours to very late hours. This will help office-goers to complete the task without availing any leave.
Mahmood Ali said that the new services would also help the NRIs who have often complained of cheating and double-registrations.
Postal CGM PVS Reddy, Stamps and Registration officials Vinod Kumar Agarwal and V Srinivas Rao were also present on the occasion.
