NITI Aayog regional seminar showcases Innovative district-led initiatives Visakhapatnam: NITI Aayog convened the Regional Best Practices Seminar (South) here on Monday under the Aspirational Districts Programme and Aspirational Blocks Programme (ADP/ABP) bringing together senior officials from the Central Government, State Governments and District administrations from across southern states. The seminar focused on showcasing replicable district-led innovations and governance practices under the Aspirational Districts Programme and Aspirational Blocks Programme (ADP/ABP).

In his keynote address, Rohit Kumar, Additional Secretary and Mission Director (ADP/ABP), NITI Aayog, highlighted the progress made by the programme and emphasised the importance of community participation and departmental convergence to make it a "Jan Andolan" (people's movement). He also appreciated the strong performance of southern states, noting that many indicators are nearing saturation.
The seminar featured three thematic technical sessions on Education and Skill Development; Health, Nutrition and Social Development; and Skill Development. Innovative initiatives presented included NIRMAN, aimed at improving foundational learning outcomes in Alluri Sitarama Raju district, and the Rural Incubation Centre model, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship among rural youth in NTR district.
Other notable initiatives showcased were Anaemia Mukt, addressing anaemia among women and children in Bidar district, and Amma Rakshitha, improving maternal health outcomes in Nirmal district. The District Collector of Kurnool also shared approaches to strengthen skills among youth.
The seminar culminated in the unveiling of the Best Practices Compendium, documenting impactful initiatives from southern states and providing replicable models for strengthening service delivery and development outcomes.
