Foundation laid for ₹. 2300 cr Blue Jet Healthcare pharma unit in Andhra Pradesh By G.Janardhana Rao
Anakapalli: The Andhra Pradesh government has signed an agreement with Blue Jet Healthcare Limited to set up a pharmaceutical manufacturing unit in Anakapalli district. The unit, which will be located in the Rambilli Industrial Park, will produce Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and intermediates.
Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony, Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh said that the project is a milestone in the industrial development of North Andhra Pradesh. "This project will not only boost the state's pharmaceutical industry but also create employment opportunities for thousands of people," he said.
Lokesh said that the Andhra Pradesh government is committed to creating a conducive environment for industries to thrive. "We have streamlined the approval process and are providing all necessary infrastructure support to ensure that projects are implemented quickly," he added.
The Minister also announced that the government is planning to develop a pharmaceutical cluster in the region, which will include facilities for research and development, testing, and manufacturing.
Blue Jet Healthcare Managing Director Shiven Arora said that the company is investing Rs 2,300 crore in the project and will create around 2,000 jobs. "We are excited to partner with the Andhra Pradesh government to set up this state-of-the-art facility," he said.
The project is expected to be completed in the next two years and will produce APIs and intermediates for the global market. The company has already started construction work on the site.
With this project, Andhra Pradesh is expected to emerge as a major hub for pharmaceutical manufacturing in the country. The state government has been actively promoting the pharmaceutical industry in the state and has offered various incentives to attract investments.
The ground-breaking ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including MP CM Ramesh, MLA Sundarapu Vijay Kumar, and senior officials from the state government and Blue Jet Healthcare.
