MSTC donates optical biometer to Sankar Foundation eye hospital Visakhapatnam: Metals and Minerals Trading Corporation (MSTC) Limited, a Mini Ratna Category-I PSU under the Ministry of Steel, Government of India, has donated an Optical Biometer worth ₹31 lakh to Sankar Foundation as part of its CSR initiative.

The equipment was commissioned by V. Ganesh Moorthy, branch manager, Andhra Pradesh, in the presence of A. Krishna Kumar, managing trustee of Sankar Foundation, and officials from MSTC and Sankar Foundation at the Sankar Foundation hospital here on Saturday.
The Optical Biometer is a state-of-the-art device that measures critical anatomical dimensions of the eye, enhancing surgical planning and outcomes in cataract and refractive procedures.
Speaking on the occasion Ganesh Moorthy commended Sankar Foundation's dedicated efforts in combating avoidable blindness in the region.
Krishna Kumar thanked MSTC for its support to strengthen the hospital's infrastructure.
Doctors T. Raveendra, T. Krishna, N.J. Sirisha, and Suparna from Sankar Foundation and Sri B Srinivasa Rao, Chief General Manager, Hindustan Shipyard, were present.
MSTC officials Narendra Mohan (DGM, Finance), Harish Kumar, Manager, (Finance), Nagaraja Rao, Manager, (Operations), V. Ramesh Kumar (DGM, Corporate Relations & Patient Care), K. Bangar Raju (DGM, PR & Liaison), S.K.L. Rao (AGM, HR), Sruthi from Sankar Foundation were also present.
Sankar Foundation is a renowned organisation providing quality and affordable eye care services, having conducted over 4 lakh surgeries and screening 2.98 lakh children for vision problems. The donation is expected to strengthen the hospital's infrastructure and support its mission to eradicate avoidable blindness, according to a release from Sankar Foundation.
