EPGC to host first edition of Andhra Open By G.Janardhana Rao
Visakhapatnam: The city of destiny will be hosting the inaugural edition of the Andhra Open 2026, prestigious golf tournament, at the picturesque East Point Golf Club from April 7. The four day tournament boasts a total prize purse of Rs 1 crore, attracting top Indian and international golfers.

The Andhra Open 2026 is supported by East Point Golf Club (EPGC) and event partner Andhra Pradesh Golf Association (APGA).
Notable participants include DP World PGTI Order of Merit leader Saptak Talwar, Veer Ahlawat, Om Prakash Chouhan, and foreign players like Sri Lankan N Thangaraja. The local challenge will be led by Visakhapatnam-based professionals S Muthu and Mohammed Rahman.
Speaking to media persons at EPGC MSN Raju, honorary secretary, East Point Golf Club, said the East Point Golf Club, established in 1884, has undergone significant transformations, including a championship course redesign in 2021 and winning the Best Renovated Golf Course Award in 2022. The 6871-yard, Par-72 course features lush green mountains, reservoirs, and well-maintained fairways.
He said the ultra modern club house which is being constructed at EPGC will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu during his next visit to the city. He said the club house has banquet halls, guest rooms, meeting halls, infinite swimming pool on the terrace, fitness center, SPA and fine restaurants.
Amandeep Johl, CEO of PGTI, expressed excitement about returning to Visakhapatnam, stating that theAndhra Open not only brings top-tier golf to the state of Andhra Pradesh but also highlights the state's potential as a vibrant golfing destination.
Prominent golf player Angad Cheema said it was a challenging experience to play at East Point Golf Club. Another Golfer Saptak Talwar said the renovated golf course is one of the best courses n the country. He is very much excited to play at East Point Golf Club.
