Death rumours on national award winning actress
Once again media showed over enthusiasm on airing the breaking news. Popular Tamil actress Manorama, fondly called 'Aachi' by her fans, was admitted to a private hospital following some illness. But some media houses started airing the news that veteran actress is no more. Irked with the news reports the senior actress spoke to some of Telugu media houses and confirmed that she is good and doing well. She also requested media houses to not spread such rumors.
Manorama, who has starred in over 750 Tamil films, spanning over five decades, is one of the finest female actress of the southern film industry. She was awarded the Padma Shri in 2002. She won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for the movie Pudhiya Pathai in 1989.
She was the recipient of the Kalaimamani award by the government of Tamil Nadu. She holds a Guinness World Record for acting more than 1000 number of films.She was seen in Suriya-starrer Tamil action film "Singam 2" last year. She was known for her roles in Telugu films like Allari Priyudu; Arundathi.
