Al Khor won TSA Qatar Womens Cricket Tournament Doha, Qatar: Telugu Sports Association (TSA) in Qatar conducted Womens Cricket Tournament on May 5th in Doha. Six teams participated in the tournament, said Association's Vice President Syed Rafi in a press release.
This is the first time TSA conducting a Womens Cricket Tournament and the primary aim of the tournament is to encourage women in the sports, said Sridhar Abbagoni, TSA President. Hundereds of people attended the matches and encouraged the players.
Al Khor Queens team became the champion in the heavily competitive tournament and Doha Dare Devils team stood as runner up. The matches are played with all the rules and regulations.
Al Khor team captain Smt. Gouri played so well and got Woman of the Tournament title along with a gold medal.
Well known Telugu community leader from Qatar KS Prasad appreciated all the players for their sportiveness and spirit. He said cricket will make woman stronger, independent, disciplined and confident. He appreciated everyone for making the tournament possible.
Indian Sports Center (ISC) President Abdul Rehman attended the event as the chief guest and promised to provide free cricket coaching to women players. Satyanarayana Malireddy from ICC managing committee attended and appreciated TSA and it's management team members including it's president, vice president and Somaraju, general secretary, members Smt. Rajani, Smt. Swapna, Smt Mallika, Sarat Babu, Santosh Kumar and Ellayya.
Several well known cricket players and management team members from ISC Nihad Mohammed Ali, Deepak Chukkala, Tripti Kale, Purushottam and Sankar Goud from ICBF attended and spoke at the tournament.
TSA thanked all the supporters and sponsors including Konaseema Restaurant, Mudassir and Joy Alukkas.
