AP HC reserves verdict on Pinnelli's bail Hyderabad, May 27 (INN): The Andhra Pradesh High Court has reserved its verdict on the anticipatory bail petition filed by Macherla MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy.
The petition is in response to allegations that Ramakrishna Reddy vandalized Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and attacked a Telugu Desam Party agent at the Palvaigate polling station in the Palnadu district on polling day.
The incident, captured on webcasting, prompted the Central Election Commission to order Reddy's arrest. In response, Ramakrishna Reddy sought anticipatory bail from the AP High Court to avoid arrest in the EVM vandalism case.
During the hearing, the High Court listened to arguments from both sides and issued a temporary order preventing Ramakrishna Reddy's arrest until June 6. The TDP agent, who was reportedly attacked for objecting to the vandalism, has filed complaints regarding three separate incidents involving Ramakrishna Reddy and his followers, including an alleged attack on a police official.
The High Court has reserved its decision on the anticipatory bail plea until Tuesday.
