Kukatpally BRS MLA criticises HYDRAA Hyderabad, Sept 23 (INN): Kukatpally MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao from BRS party expressed strong discontent over HYDRA's demolition activities in Kukatpally, particularly around Nalla Cheruvu.
Speaking to the media, Krishna Rao criticised HYDRA for issuing notices late at night and carrying out demolitions early the next morning, leaving affected residents with no time to prepare. He highlighted how the demolitions were causing fear among Hyderabad residents, especially during weekends, with people dreading HYDRA's operations.
Krishna Rao questioned the legal validity of demolishing properties belonging to landowners in Nalla Cheruvu, demanding that compensation be provided to them. He urged the government to compensate landholders before taking over any such properties. He further criticised HYDRAA's lack of consideration, stating that residents were not even given time to gather their belongings before their sheds were destroyed. He called the situation unfortunate and asked what the government planned to do for those who had suffered losses.
Additionally, Krishna Rao accused HYDRAA of violating court orders by proceeding with demolitions on a Sunday and claimed the demolitions were being used as a tool to distract citizens from welfare schemes. He also pointed out that debris from the demolished structures was left uncleared, adding to the residents' woes. Krishna Rao demanded transparency in HYDRAA's policies and actions, urging the agency to clarify its procedures.
