Tirupati:: Rayalaseema is the most suitable region for green energy development in the state, said Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar.
Participating in the National Energy Conservation Week celebrations in Tirupati on Sunday, the Minister stated that both the Central and State Governments are giving top priority to renewable energy promotion. He made these remarks after visiting the Energy Exhibition organised by APSPDCL at the S.R. Convention Hall.

The Minister keenly observed innovative models and projects developed by students focusing on energy conservation, green energy, and smart technologies. Students explained the practical applications of their innovations, which were highly appreciated by the Minister. He said that encouraging such creativity among students is essential for building a sustainable and energy-efficient future.
Ravi Kumar specially commended projects related to PM Surya Ghar, KUSUM, and Smart Metering. He directed officials to create widespread public awareness about these schemes.
Highlighting the Coalition Government's commitment to innovation, the Minister said an Innovation Hub has been established to promote new ideas and startups, assuring full government support to young innovators in the energy sector.
Addressing the valedictory function, the Minister said Rayalaseema districts are being actively encouraged for solar, wind, and pumped storage projects after the Coalition Government came to power.
He stated that power projects are being fast-tracked to meet future demand, with solar energy generated during daytime being stored through battery storage systems for later use. The government is committed to providing uninterrupted 24-hour power supply to every consumer, he said.
He added that the PM Surya Ghar scheme helps reduce electricity bills and offers subsidies from both Central and State Governments.
Earlier, the Minister distributed prizes to winners of competitions held as part of the Energy Conservation Week. APSPDCL CMD Shivasankar Lotheti, Chandragiri MLA Pulivarthi Nani, senior power department officials, and staff attended the programme.
