Shramik Utsav kick starts in Visakhapatnam on Saturday Collector M N Harendra Prasad will inaugurate the utsav
Visakhapatnam: The Shramik Utsav, a week-long cultural extravaganza organised by the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), will begin at exhibition ground behind Au convention centre in Visakhapatnam on December 27.
Speaking to mediapersons CITU State general secretary Ch Narasinga Rao, utsav committe vice president K Murali and convener K Ramaprabha said District Collector M N Harendra Prasad will inaugurate the utsav and actor Prakash Raj will be the chief guest.
The festival will feature a range of cultural performances, exhibitions, and literary sessions, focusing on themes such as secularism, social justice, and labor rights. Each day will be dedicated to a specific theme, including gender equality, anti-drug awareness, and the right to food, health, education, and employment.
The event will also showcase scientific exhibitions, cartoon displays, short films, and a book exhibition with over 100,000 titles. A photo exhibition and an anatomy exhibition will also be part of the week long festival.
They said the Shramik Utsav aims to promote social awareness and cultural exchange among the people of Visakhapatnam and beyond.
