Visakhapatnam: The Andhra Pradesh government is poised to take a significant leap in the field of quantum technology, with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh laying the foundation stone for Quantum Valley on Saturday.
The Quantum Valley, located at Uddandarayunipalem village in Thullur mandal, will be home to India's first 133-qubit quantum computer, brought in by leading companies such as IBM, TCS, and L&T. This state-of-the-art facility will serve as a hub for research, innovation, manufacturing, and skill development in critical sectors, including quantum computing, quantum communications, quantum sensors, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, defence, healthcare, and finance.
The establishment of Quantum Valley is expected to attract world-class research institutions, investments from global technology companies, and expansion of the startup ecosystem, creating substantial employment opportunities. The state government plans to complete the Quantum Valley complex by August and install the quantum computer by December.
Quantum technology is anticipated to bring transformative changes in various industries, including pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and finance, and improve disease diagnosis, weather forecasting, and digital security. This landmark initiative positions Amaravati as global destination for next generation innovation and advanced research. The groundbreaking ceremony will beginning of new era in advanced technology and innovation.
The Andhra Pradesh government envisions Amaravati Quantum Valley to be on par with global quantum centres such as Boston, Singapore, and Shanghai, just as Silicon Valley led the global IT revolution.
