CM stresses need to revamp outdated Acts GoI also considering reviewing old Acts
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu advised officials to maintain team spirit and adopt best practices to achieve good results and benefit society. He emphasised the need for technology adoption and the need to revamp outdated Acts. The Government of India is also considering reviewing old Acts and removing unnecessary clauses to benefit society. The Andhra Pradesh government should be a role model in reviewing Acts and bringing reforms.

Addressing the third Ministers and Secretaries conference at the Secretariat today, Chief Minister Naidu highlighted the recent Davos World Economic Forum summit's focus on Artificial Intelligence and Energy transition. He stressed the need for adopting new technology and highlighted the state government's efforts to adopt deep technology, including AI, quantum computers, and data centres, to improve people's living standards.
The Chief Minister also discussed the achievements of the coalition government over the past 19 months, balancing welfare and development. He expressed happiness about the near completion of Polavaram and it's planned to start function before Goavari Pushkaram in 2027. Similarly, Amaravati capital works have gained momentum and are expected to be completed in three years, making Amaravati a livable city within that timeframe. Additionally, the Visakha steel plant has made progress and earned a profit of Rs 54 crore.
The Chief Minister also mentioned the state government's efforts to rescue farmers. They spent Rs 1100 crore through market intervention to improve agricultural produce prices. Additionally, Rs 10000 crore was credited to farmers' accounts within 48 hours of procurement of paddy. Distribution of pattadar passbooks with government emblems has begun, featuring QR codes and tamper-proofing using blockchain technology. Lastly, the state government has allocated Rs 24000 crore towards developing the irrigation sector.
The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for Quantum Valley in Amaravati. Google and other companies are setting up data centres in Visakhapatnam with a capacity of 5 gigawatts. The Green Ammonia project has been launched in Kakinada. The state government is introducing trudown charges in power tariffs to address the current power crisis. Roads will be laid by spending Rs 3000 crore, and the state aims to become garbage-free by March. The Jal Jeevan mission will provide drinking water facilities to all houses at a cost of Rs 25000 crore. The Sanjeevani project, which will implement the university health scheme, will revolutionise the health sector.
Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan emphasised the importance of effective performance of officials at the field level and the need to fill the gaps in the delivery of government services. Chief Secretary K Vijayanand delivered the inaugural address.
