Three day Avakaya utsavam to be hosted in Vijayawada next month To showcase Telugu cinema, culture and art
Visakhapatnam: The Andhra Pradesh government will host the 'Avakaya Cinema Sanskriti, Sahitya Utsavam,' festival from January 8 to 10, 2026, in Vijayawada. The three-day event aims to showcase Telugu cinema, literature, and art, and promote Andhra Pradesh as a cultural hub.

Releasing a. poster on Avakaya utsavam at secretariat at Amaravati on Monday Minister for Tourism Kandula Durgesh said that the festival is part of the government's vision to make Andhra Pradesh a cultural and artistic capital.
"The festival will feature discussions, performances, and workshops on cinema, literature, music, and theater, and will be held at Punnami Ghat and Bhavani Island in Vijayawada," he said.
The event is expected to boost tourism in the region and provide a platform for local artists and art enthusiasts. The government has announced that entry to the festival is free.
"The festival is being organized by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department and Teamwork Arts, with the objective of promoting cultural exchange and artistic collaboration," said Minister Durgesh.
The festival will feature various activities, including panel discussions on Telugu cinema's roots, literary backgrounds, and contemporary changes. There will also be performances of music, dance, theater, and puppet shows, as well as workshops on poetry, storytelling, music, and theater.
A heritage walk and a food festival are also part of the event, showcasing local cuisine and cultural heritage.
Minister Durgesh also announced that the government will be organizing a meeting with cinema industry stakeholders to discuss issues related to the industry.
The 'Avakaya Cinema Sanskriti, Sahitya Utsavam' promises to be a unique and enriching experience for all those who attend. With its rich cultural program and free entry, it is expected to attract a large crowd from across the state and beyond..
