Scholarship test for Class 8 students on Nov 21 Hyderabad, Aug 21 (INN): The State Level National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme Examination for class VIII will be conducted on November 21 at all Revenue Divisional Headquarters of 23 districts in the State.
According to a notification issued by Director of Government Examinations Pronoti Suhasini Kavoori on Saturday, the entrance test will be conducted from 10.00am to 01.00 pm. The students can take the test in Telugu, Hindi, Urdu or English media.
Ms Kavoori called on students to collect the required Application Forms and Nominal Rolls from the eligible schools.
OC,BC students who have scored at least 55 per cent of marks and SC, ST students who have scored at least 50 per cent marks in class VII Examination studied during the year 2009-10 and who are studying in a Government, Local Body or a Government aided schools are eligible to apply.
The applicants annual parental income should be below Rs 1,50,000 from all sources. The candidates have to produce the latest original Annual Income Certificate issued by the MRO in case of private employee and certificate issued by the employer in case of Government employee.
Students studying VIII class in AP Residential High Schools, AP Social Welfare Residential Schools, AP Tribal Welfare Residential High Schools, Government Ashram High Schools and Kasturba Residential Schools, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Kendriya Vidyalayas and in Private unaided Schools are not eligible to appear for the Examinations.
The candidates also have to submit the original caste certificate (issued by the MRO) to the Headmaster, as well as the original VII class Pass Memo of Marks. The examination fee has been fixed at Rs100 for OC/BC students and Rs 50 for SC/ST students. The last date for remittance of Examination Fee by the Candidates to the Head Masters of the Schools concerned is September 15.
