Relief to water owes at Praja Vaani Hyderabad, Aug 23 (INN): As many as 101 of the 161 complaints received by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board were resolved on the spot during the 'Praja Vaani' programme held on Monday.
According to HMWSSB Managing Director M Jagadeeshwar (IAS), the main objective of the Praja Vaani programme is to facilitate direct interaction between consumers and top management so that their grievances could be redressed at the earliest.
A total of 161 complaints were received at Khairtabad Board Office from all parts of GHMC areas such as Asmangadh, Earragadda, Shapurnagar, Malkajgiri, Marredpally, Bhoiguda, LB Nagar, Mallepally, Gode - Ki - Khabar, etc.
Mr Jagadeeshwar said that 101 of the 161 complaints received, were resolved on the spot, at Khairtabad. He said that most of the complaints were regarding billing disputes, onetime settlement, new water connections, change of name, metering disputes, and drainage problems.
The MD said that the Praja Vaani programme is now organized in all operation and maintenance divisions for the convenience of the public. A senior officer in the cadre of Director / Chief General Manager (E) attended the Praja Vaani Programme along with the General Manager (E) of O and M Division concerned.
Apart from Board Office, several complaints were received at each division office.
