Second Hyderabad City Master Plan released


 
Hyderabad, Aug 24 (INN): Ten new flyovers, 13 new bridges, 7 new under bridges and multi-parking facilities have been proposed in the City Master Plan-2031. Chief Minister K Rosaiah released the Master Plan, Municipal Administration Anam Ramnarayan Reddy told media persons. He said that the Master Plan has been carefully drafted to ease the present and future traffic woes in the city. He said that HMDA officials took 10 long years to draft this Master Plan.

The Minister said that Chief Minister K Rosaiah had approved the Master Plan after a review meeting with him and officials of HMDA. The Master Plan comes into effect from August 24, 2010 and will be implemented before 2031.

The new Master Plan envisages internal roads of 40 feet in width while MRTS roads would be 200 feet in width. According to the Master Plan, the Green Belt Project will be extended to the surroundings of the Hussain Sagar Lake. The Lake would be protected by diverting affluent spewing canals and pipelines away from the lake. The MS Makta has also been notified as a residential area, Mr Ramnarayan Reddy revealed.

The ROB at the Kukatpally would be completed with a cost of Rs 99 crore. The Master Plan focuses on continuing with the development works around the Hi-Tech City and its surrounding areas. Mr Anam added that the Chief Minister ordered officials to complete the flyover near Hi-tech city by the end of November 2010.

Mr Ramnarayan Reddy revealed that Mr Rosaiah directed officials to complete works on the Outer Ring Road by November 2012. He revealed that a development corridor would be setup, up to one km on both sides of the ORR.

The Minister said that the Phase-I and Phase-II A works on the ORR were almost complete and ready for an inspection tour by the Chief Minister on August 29.

Mr Reddy revealed that Mr Rosaiah instructed officials to complete the ORR stretch from Pedda Amberpet to Shameerpet and Shameerpet to NH9 by November 2011.

The Minister said that six of the 33 proposed radial roads to ORR of 44 km in length have been completed at an estimated cost of Rs 344 crore. The works on other three radical roads at an estimated cost of Rs 70 crore are in progress.

Mr Anam finally said that radial roads should be arranged surroundings of the outer ring road which will be totally completed by 2012. The Minister added that the Master Plan would be put on the HMDA official website by August 26.
