Man, son held for dowry harassment Hyderabad, Aug 25 (INN): The City Crime Station police on Wednesday arrested one Patnam Maheshwar Goud and his son Vijay Pratap following a complaint lodged by the latters wife that the duo were physically and mentally harassing her for additional dowry. According to sources, complainant Vishnupriya of Vidyanagar married Vijay Pratap of Bowenpally in 2009.
She said that her parents gave the groom Rs one crore as dowry during marriage ceremony. In the complaint, she alleged that her father-in-law Maheshwar Goud started demanding her to fulfill his sexual desires and harassing her physically and mentally.
When she brought this to the notice of her husband, Vijay remained calm, Vishnupriya said. When Vishnupriya refused to obey her father-in-law directions, they started harassing demanding additional dowry.
Unable to meet the harassment, Vishnupriya lodged a complaint with the crime station police. However, Maheswar Goud alleged that his daughter-in-law has hatched a conspiracy to separate his son with his family members and foisted a fabricated case. The police produced the accused before the Nampally court.
