Flash strike forces RTC to suspend partial bus services
Tirupati, Aug 27 (INN): The State Road Transport Corporation staff consisting of drivers and conductors attached to Alipiri Bus Depot in Tirupati on Friday boycotted duties demanding reinstatement of an employee, who was allegedly suspended on flimsy grounds.
According to reports coming in, the employees, under the aegis of National Mazdoor Union staged a flash strike in front of Alipiri bus depot manager. The agitating workers demanded that the suspension orders against the bus driver be revoked immediately.
The agitating employees demanded that the authorities suspend and initiate disciplinary action against Alipiri depot manager. Following the impromptu strike, the RTC authorities were forced to call off bus services to some places places and including Tirumala, putting passengers and devotees to inconvenience.
The employees warned that they would not withdraw their strike until the government initiates action against the depot manager.
