TANA-SciTech Forum empowered the Dallas Indian community Dallas, TX, Aug 30: 'Information is power and those who control it will have the power and opportunities for a long time' is the theme of the event organized by TANA on Friday, Aug. 27th at the Aahar Indian restaurant, Irving, TX as a part of a series of informative seminars.

Raj Asava, Vice-President of Dell Systems attended as a Keynote speaker and spoke on 'Key Changes in Information Technology Its impact on overall environment of business, jobs and social life.'
TANA, founded in 1977, is one of the oldest and largest Indo-American national-level organizations with its charter to perpetuate, integrate, and assimilate the cultural heritage of the Telugu-speaking people of the North American continent into the mainstream of the cultural heritage of North America.

Nagendra Bandaru, Chair, SciTech Forum of TANA welcomed over 100 entrepreneurs and Information Technology industry executives to the seminar and congratulated the Indian community for bringing the change and adding employment to the American economy clearing the myths about outsourcing. Bandaru mentioned that TANA in collaboration with several key business organizations is launching an initiative for the Indian Diaspora in Dallas a forum on Science and Technology.
In his introduction of the key note speaker Raj Asava, Bandaru quoted 'Raj Asava is the Chief Strategy Officer of Dell is responsible for the development, enhancement and cascading of the organizations global strategy. An Information Technology industry veteran, Raj has a proven track record of success as a strategist, entrepreneur, and a global leader. He has over three decades of experience, working in various geographies and providing innovative solutions to clients in several industries. Raj holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management from Central Michigan University. He has also completed the Global Business Leadership executive program from U21Global and the 'Managerial Issues in the Global Enterprise' program at Thunderbird American Graduate School of International Management'
In his key note address Asava spoke on the key changes in the IT industry and its impact on the overall business environment, jobs and social life. Asava gave an overview of the size of the IT industry, disruptive technology trends such as mobile computing, ubiquitous connectivity and disaggregated applications. He gave a new definition of the 'cloud computing' and indicated that 'we are in the midst of an unprecedented revolution in the information technology industry, advancements in technology is moving the technology platforms from proprietary to a utility based (on-demand, scalable, cost effective, energy efficient) environment'. In response to a question Asava mentioned that there are plenty of opportunities to compete in the IT industry provided there is differentiation in the product or service being offered and size will not be a factor. Asava concluded that business as usual is not an option and emphasized aggressive competition for a sustainable and profitable growth.
Earlier Prasad Thotakura, Executive Vice President of TANA reiterated TANAs continued focus on serving the Telugu community with result oriented programs and empowering a new breed of ambassadors to bring the community together. Thotakura congratulated Asava for his charity work related to American Heart Walk and 'Pratham' events and encouraged the audience to actively participate in these events.
The informative and stimulating seminar came to an end with the vote of thanks by Ram Yalamanchili, Treasurer of TANA to the audience for their attendance in spite of being a working day, volunteers who spent countless hours of valuable time, Aahar Indian restaurant for providing tasty food and excellent facilities and great meeting ambiance.
