Lack of quorum forces GHMC GB meet adjournment
Hyderabad, Sept 4 (INN): The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation General Body meeting was on Saturday adjourned without any transaction of business due to lack of quorum. Mayor Banda Karthika Chandra Reddy was forced to adjourned the till September 30.
Later on, Bharatiya Janata Party Corporators staged a dharna in front of Mayors Chamber demanding that September 17 be celebrated officially as Telangana Liberation Day.
Pointing out to the BJP Corporators that they were protesting in front of the wrong person, Ms Karthika Reddy told them that only the state government can make a decision on the issue. She said that the Corporators should protest before the competent authority and suggested that they represent the matter before the Chief Minister.
