Emergency coronary unit for Brahmotsavams


 
Tirupati, Sept 10(INN): TTD Executive Officer I Y R Krishna Rao on Friday said that a coronary unit will be set up at Ashwini hospital on Tirumala on a 24x7 basis for emergency use of aged devotees during the Brahmotsavam. Briefing media persons about the preparations and arrangements made for the twin Brahmotsavams being conducted during September and October this year Mr Rao told said the coronary unit provided with collaboration of the Apollo Hospitals will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister K Rosaiah during his visit to Tirumala on September 15 for Garudotsavam and for offering official respects to Lord Venkateswara.

The executive officer said to facilitate all the devotees wanting to climb the hill shrine the walkers path will be kept open round the clock during the Brahmotsavam period. Mr Rao said the TTD had decided tie up with the AP Tourism department henceforth to run integrated information services besides a multi lingual information services in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, English and Hindi.

He said it has been decided to rope in efficient personnel of the AP Tourism department in the manning the information centres instead of hiring retired employees. The Executive Officer said Brahmotsavam is like a special festival where in devotees are exposed to the natural environs , sanctity and beauty of Tirumala will be exposed to the devotees.

Special attention is given to parking of vehicles, facilities for devotees at Mada streets, free meals at Annadanam complex, Medical facilities like first aid, Ambulances and swine flu testing . Mr Rao said we also have buffer stock of 5 lakh laddus and there was no need for the devotees to be anguished over the availability of laddus.

The EO also appealed to devotees to help successful conduction of Vahanam processions during the Brahmotsavam. I appeal to people to not throw coins, salt, pepper on the Professional deities and cause injuries to vahanam bearers and priests, He said. The Executive officer also appealed to devotees to avoid brining plastic bottles and plastic bags to Tirumala. 'Also please do not leave plastics back on Tirumala,' he said adding that elaborate arrangements were made to keep the place clean and maintain sanitation in and around Tirumala.
