Bhashyam staffer faces sexual harassment charges
Hyderabad, Sept 13 (INN): Angry parents and relatives of an eighth standard student protested in front of the Bhashyam Public School in Meerpet following a revelation that their child had been sexually harassed by a staff member. According to Meerpet police station Inspector Dronacharyulu, Floor Supervisor Venkaiah of Bhashyam Public School had been sexually harassing the eighth standard girl student for some time. Unable to bear his advances anymore, the girl informed her parents about the incident.
On hearing the girl, the shocked parents rushed to the police station to file a complaint against Venkaiah. The police immediately registered the complaint under Section 354 and proceeded to take the accused in custody. He was reported as absconding.
The shocking incident comes in the wake of a similar case being lodged against one Malyadri the founder of an orphanage who molested students of eighth and ninth standards after a sting operation by a television channel. The case is also a grim reminder of the Parkwood International School incident in which the then Principal was accused of repeatedly raping and impregnating a Class 12 student.
