Businessman's son enacted kidnap drama Hyderabad, Sept 14 (INN): Charminar police on Tuesday went in a tizzy when a rich businessman approached them that his son was kidnapped and the kidnappers were demanding a ransom of Rs 2.5 crore. According to police, owner of Santlal Jewellers Hemanth Kumar Gupta approached the Charminar police on Tuesday with a complaint that his son Yashgupta (21) has been kidnapped by unidentified persons on Monday night. Mr Gupta is the owner of Santlal Jewellers at Basheer Bagh and is a resident of Charminar.
Mr Guptas complaint stated that some unidentified persons called his son at around 9:30 PM on Monday night and told Yashgupta to come to the High Court. He said that after this, at around 10:30 PM he received a call from Yashguptas mobile. Mr Gupta said that the callers voice was not familiar to him. The caller told Mr Gupta that his son was kidnapped and allowed him to talk to Yashgupta. Yashgupta told his father that he was taken to Pizza Corner at Banjara Hills and then to Secunderabad.
The alleged kidnapper then spoke again to Mr Gupta and demanded Rs 2.5 crore in ransom for the safe release of his son. Acting on the complaint, the police immediately formed two special teams to nab the kidnappers. According to highly placed sources, the police have learnt that the entire episode was a drama played out by Yashgupta and he has already been arrested. The sources say that Yashgupta has planned and executed the entire kidnapping drama with the help of his love-interest. The sources further say that the businessmans son was traced with the help of his cell-phone signals. The police is expected to make an official announcement in this regard by Tuesday evening.
