TMJAC to observe Nizam Day on Sept 17 Hyderabad, Sept 15 (INN): Telangana Muslim Joint Action Committee (TMJAC) on Wednesday expressed indignation by various pro-Telangana parties decision to celebrate September 17 as Telangana Liberation Day. Talking to media persons TMJAC president Mushtaq Malik wondered how the Telangana protagonists could celebrate a day which saw many Telanganaites being slaughtered.
Mr Malik said that his outfit would neither celebrate any Formation Day or Liberation Day but only the Nizam Day, as many Muslims had been massacred during the Police Action. He said that his outfit would offer its respects at the grave of the former Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan on that day.
Later, the TMJAC would proceed to the Gun Park to pay respect to the Telangana Martyrs. The TMJAC chief also warned the Telangana Rashtra Samithi of withdrawing support if it joined any communal party. He also demanded that the TRS must promise to ensure that the Urdu language must be predominantly used in the Osmania University.
