Kushaiguda inspector transferred for manhandling girl Hyderabad, Sept 18 (INN): Brushing aside demands by leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party and activists for the suspension of Kushaiguda Inspector T Manohar Reddy, Cyberabad Commissioner S Prabhakar Reddy on Saturday gave the orders for the officials transfer. The BJP leaders had attempted to pressurise Mr Prabhakar Reddy by staging a six-hour long protest in front of Kushaiguda police station late on Friday night. The protest was broken up with the arrest of BJP state President G Kishan Reddy and senior party K Laxman.
Even as the BJPs protest had little effect on the Cyberabad Commissioner, Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy said that she had ordered an inquiry against Inspector Manohar Reddy and Sub-Inspector T Narendar Reddy over the incident in which the officers had allegedly misbehaved with a B Tech student on Friday. She added that appropriate action would be taken against the officials based on the inquiry report.
Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner of Police, Alwal Zone, M Shivprasad stated he had already submitted a report on the issue to the Cyberabad Commissioner. Mr Prabhakar meanwhile asked Inspector to report to him on Saturday evening for his new place of posting and posted senior Inspector (Special Branch) Ravinder at Kushaiguda police station.
