Two more succumb to Swine flu Hyderabad, Sept 20 (INN): The state saw two deaths due to the dreaded swine flu epidemic during September 13 to September 19, according to the weekly figures released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday. The two deaths were from the confirmed 26 cases of H1N1 afflictions during the week.
Since the first case of the deadly virus being confirmed in Hyderabad in May 2009, the state saw a total of 1477 cases. A total of 94 persons from the state have lost their lives to the dreaded disease since its outbreak. The country has lost 2427 persons to the disease from among the 43,283 confirmed swine flu infections since May 2009.
Samples from 1,83,027 persons have been tested for Influenza A H1N1 in government laboratories and a few private laboratories across the country thus far. Of these, 43,283 (23.64 per cent) have been found positive. The two deaths reported from the state are included among the 111 deaths reported from across the country during the week.
