Man dies, kin protest NIMSs negligence Hyderabad, Sept 22 (INN): Following the death of a 44-year-old eatery owner, his angry relatives staged agitations in front of the Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences on Wednesday, alleging negligence on the part of doctors. According to Inspector Ashok Charavarthi, the deceased has been identified as R Raghavendra, a resident of Nacharam. He was admitted to the NIMS at Punjagutta in the early days of August for a minor operation, but his surgery was delayed by the doctors on the pretext that his blood pressure was not under control.
According to Raghavendras relatives, the ailment, which they did not name, spread during the past one-and-a-half month, leading to his death late on Tuesday night. The protesting relatives charged that they had spent over Rs 7 lakh for Raghavendras treatment. They also blamed the doctors for the loss of the head of their family and said that they were now in debt on account of the loans they had taken for his treatment. Police registered a case under section 304 A IPC and took up further investigations.
