NATS to organise blind student programs in the USA

SRMAB Students performing Cultural DanceNorth America Telugu Society (NATS), a service oriented Telugu Organization in North America is helping visually impaired students to perform cultural programs all over the United States. In true spirit of service NATS is arranging cultural programs by a phenomenal dance troupe comprised of visually impaired students of Shree Ramana Maharashi Academy for Blind (SRMAB) in all major cities of USA between September 25th and December 15th.

The SRMAB is a school focused on advancing the needs of blind students. The unique dance performance would include Bharathanatyam, Kuchipudi, semi-classical devotional songs, Folk dances (Telugu songs and Bhangra), Kollatam and Dance Ballets. The uniqueness of the performances can be attributed to the fact that these highly difficult traditional forms of classical dance are performed by visually impaired youth.

Through the universal language of art, the dance troupe of young, visually impaired dances send out a strong message: the light, extinguished in their own eyes, is relit in the dance, affirming that there are not people with disabilities, only those who are differently able.

Total duration of each event will be between 11/2 to 2 hrs.
'All people with disabilities can live with self-respect and dignity' That is what this tour is about showing the sighted world what people with visual impairment or blindness can accomplish, NATS informed.
