Sanskriti Express to showcase Tagores life at Sec-bad station Hyderabad, Sept 28 (INN): Sanskriti Express the Mobile Exhibition Special Train being run in commemoration of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Nobel Laureate Gurudev Ravindranath Tagore, showcasing his life and philosophy was opened for display at Secunderabad Railway Station on Tuesday. The Exhibition Train will be open for public viewing till 1st October, 2010 from 10:00 am to 08:00 PM each day and the entry is free. South Central Railway Additional General Manager Arun Bhagra opened the Exhibition Train and was the first visitor.
The Sanskriti Express was flagged off by Minister for Railways Mamata Banerjee on May 9, the Birthday of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore from Rail Museum, Howrah. This train will travel all over the country, touching important stations and terminate at Bolpur, West Bengal on May 8, 2011. The Mobile Exhibition Special Train has five air-conditioned coaches, in which the life and philosophy of Gurdev Rabindranath Tagore has been presented.
The first coach is Jibon Smriti- Life of Gurudev, depicted with his reminiscences in the photographs etc., second coach is Gitanjali Poems and songs of Gurudev and other eminent artists; third coach is Muktodhara Literature of Gurudev; fourth coach is Chitrarekha paintings of Gurudev and other eminent artists; and fifth coach Seshkatha depiction of photographs of Gurudevs last journey and Smaranika - Exhibition and sale of handicrafts etc. from Shantiniketan. As a part of the Exhibition, a cultural programme is being organized on Wednesday at 04:00 PM at Rail Nilayam Auditorium, Secunderabad. The programme will see the rendition of Bharat Tirtha, a dance drama of Rabindranth Tagore bySruti Performing Troupe of Kolkata. Besides, other cultural programmes related to Rabindranath Tagores works are also lined up as a part of the event.
