DWCRA Bazaar from Oct 4 Hyderabad, Sept 30 (INN): Enchanting handlooms of Pochampally, Venkatagiri, Gadwal, Narayanpet, Kalamkari, beautiful handicrafts made with jute, coir, wood and metal, soft toys, terracotta, leather goods ready-made garments and mouth watering food products like pickles, powders, snacks from Andhra Pradesh will be on display and sale at the DWCRA Bazaar which would be held from October 4 to 17 at Peoples Plaza, Necklace Road. According to the Union Ministry of Rural Development, it would organise the Bazaar jointly with the state government.
Colourful dresses from Gujarat, intricate chikan works of UP, soft silks of Karnataka, Chanderi sarees of MP, ayurvedik products and handlooms from Kerala, woollen shawls will be available at the Bazaar. The Ministry officials said that the Bazaar provides a forum for showcasing and marketing products made by rural women belonging to Self-Help Groups.
The officials said that the state government have been providing marketing support to the Self Help Groups by organizing DWCRA Bazaars successfully for the past 11 years. About 600 participants of DWACRA/SHG women from 14 States like Assam, Haryana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Puducherry, Goa, Maharastra and Andhra Pradesh will participate.
The arrangements for the participants like accommodation and transportation are being made by the Department of Rural Development,. The entry is free and timings of the exhibition are from morning 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily. Minister for Rural Development Vatti Vasanth Kumar will inaugurate the Exhibition on October 4 at 11:30 AM.
