Jewellery thieves nabbed Hyderabad, Oct 3 (INN): In a major breakthrough, city police on Sunday nabbed four jewellery thieves and recovered gold jewellery weighing around 920 grams and a car from their possession. According to police, the four accused were identified as 16-year-old Mallikarjun, 15-year-old Ravi Kumar, 19-year-old Madan Kumar and 28-year-old T Gopi. According police, Mallikarjun entered into the shop of Sai Baba Jewellers along with the other customers and waited for a chance, while the other accused Ravi Kumar outside the shop who was watching the surroundings on May 25.
Police say that one Meduri Malleshwar Rao, a dealer, entered into shop to collect payment. He was carrying a bag containing some jewellery. As the owner of the shop was busy in attending other customers, Malleshwar Rao was waiting in the shop. Meantime Malleshwar Rao received a call and went aside to note down the particulars being informed by the caller duly keeping his bag containing the jewellery on the sofa. The accused Mallikarjun took the opportunity and vanished with the bag containing the gold jewellery and cash.
The police on Sunday received a tipoff and apprehended Mallikarjun and Ravi Kumar. On interrogation, the duo confessed to their crime. The police recovered gold jewellery weighing 470 Grams from Mallikarjun and 201 grams from the possession of Ravi Kumar. Based on their confession, Market Police arrested the receivers of stolen property, T Gopi and Madan Kumar and recovered 150 grams and 99 grams gold jewellery respectively from their possession. The accused persons will be produced before concerned Courts for sending them to Judicial Custody.
