DGP orders probe into Khammam gun misfire incident Hyderabad, Oct 20 (INN): Director General of Police K Aravinda Rao on Wednesday ordered a probe into the death of two students due to misfiring of a gun at an arms exhibition in Khammam earlier in the day. Addressing media persons at a crowded press conference, Mr Aravinda Rao denied any malicious intent behind the incident and described it as a pure accident. He also assured that departmental action will be taken against the constable Srinivas who was responsible for the incident. Mr Aravinda Rao also revealed that a criminal case will be booked against the constable.
The DGP informed that higher officials will not be made responsible for the incident because they have not passed any orders to display arms with live rounds. The exhibition was held just to educate students about the duties of police department and how the department works to protect the law and order, about the crime and traffic, he said.
