Collectors skip Face to Face with Mayor Hyderabad, Nov 6 (INN): Mayor Banda Karthika Reddy on Saturday ordered Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation officials to immediately widen and repair the Mehdipatnam-Moazzam Jahi Market road (via Asifnagar, Mallepally and Sitaram Bagh). The Mayors directive came after Mr Padmanabham, a resident of Sitarambagh had complained of horrendous traffic conditions and pathetic state of the road on phone as part of the monthly Face-to-Face programme. Cyberabad Commission K Prabhakar Rao stated that the matter would be looked into immediately and the grievance solved.
Surprisingly, neither Hyderabad district Collector Natarajan Gulzar and Ranga Reddy district Collector Dana Kishore, nor any of their representatives were present at the programme. Likewise, there were no officials present from the Telecom department. As many as 29 citizens put forward their grievances at the Face-to-Face programme. Among these, 15 citizens used the telephone to raise the issues facing them, while 14 appeared in person. Of these 29 complaints, 21 were against the GHMC, while four complaints were raised against the police department, three against the HMWSSB and one against the Road Transport Corporation.
At the last Face-to-Face programme held on September 4, 59 grievances were raised. Of these, 48 complaints were solved and 11 are being looked into.
