Satyam accounting fraud: trial begins Hyderabad, Nov 8 (INN): The process of examination of prosecution witnesses in the infamous Satyam Computers Scam case commenced in the Central Bureau of Investigation Special Court at Nampally Criminal Court complex here on Monday. The CBI has produced two government officials, who were present at the time of seizure of records in the PWHC Audit office, as witnesses to the court. The court recorded the deposition of Yoganand, Assistant Statistical Officer in the Directorate of School Education. He told the Special Judge that the CBI officers had seized records from the PWHC Audit office in his presence.
Later, Yoganand was cross-examined by the defence counsels. The statement of another witness, Diwakar Babu, a superintendent in the office of the Director of School Education, was also recorded. Officers of various banks will be examined in the court from Tuesday to Saturday for which summons were issued to the witnesses already. The CBI prosecutors have made arrangements to substantiate the charge that the accused had fabricated Fixed Deposit receipts in the scandal. All the 10 accused including the prime accused B Ramalinga Raju were present in court.
