Problems greet Collector on school visit Hyderabad, Nov 11 (INN): A plethora of problems greeted Hyderabad Collector Natrajan Gulzar on his inspection tour of Government schools in the Charminar constituency. During his two-hour long visit Mr Gulzar visited the Government Urdu Medium Schools in Talab Katta which was shifted from Mogulpura. He also visited Government Primary school for Urdu Medium and High School for Telugu Medium in Mirjumla Katta, which was shifted here from Sultan Shahi. Mr Gulzar inquired about the problems of students and came across absence of toilets and presence of electricity facilities but absence of fans. About 92 students are studying in the Primary School and 150 students are students of the High School.
To overcome the problem of insufficient space, the government will construct a new building beside the existing one at a cost of Rs 42 lakh. The under-construction building will contain 7 class rooms and one staff room, the Collector was informed. The Collector also inspected Government Girls High School in Moghulpura which is has 123 students on its rolls in Sultanshahi. Most of the government schools were shifted after the private building owners got them vacated, the officials informed.
Talking to media persons Mr Gulzar said that government schools in Hyderabad will be granted Rs one lakh per year for maintenance. He added that government is ready to construct schools on vacant lands or convert unused community halls into schools.
MIM Floor leader Akbaruddin Owasis informed the Collector that due to gate of Moghalpura Girls High Schools faces the road, traffic problems were the order of the day. He urged that the gate be shifted to an adjoining lane. He also urged the Collector that Charminar bus stop, which is under the control of the police department, should be turned into parking place for the tourists visiting historical places like Charminar, Mecca Masjid, Falaknuma Place etc and land beside the Mogulpura outpost should be granted for police department.
