Kidnapped boy rescued, one held Nalgonda, Nov 11 (INN): Yadagirigutta police on Thursday rescued a seven-year-old boy, Devabrata Sahu, who was kidnapped by two unidentified persons while he was returning home from school at Subhashnagar in Jeedimetla on Wednesday. The kidnappers had sought Rs 50 lakh as ransom for the safe release of the boy. According to sources, the police arrested one Santosh, who is believed to be the kingpin in the kidnapping case. However, one person who also cooperated in the operation managed to escape from the police.
The police said that the kidnapers abducted Devabrata Sahu, a first standard student when he was returning from the grocery store run by his father, Srikanth, at Jeedimetla. Later, the abductors made a call to the boy's father on his mobile and demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh to set him free. The anxious parents lodged a complaint with Jeedimetla police station in this regard. The police then swung into action and managed to trace the whereabouts of the kidnapped boy. They managed to rescue the boy unharmed. The police handed them over to Cyberabad police.
