LSP forms United Forum of Women Hyderabad, Nov 12 (INN): A United Forum of Women has come into existence to fight for womens causes. At a meeting attended by representatives of different political parties, womens and civil society organizations and social activists at the Lok Satta Party headquarters here on November 11, the forum decided to mobilize women from the village level and fight against domestic violence and other atrocities, the liquor menace and exploitation by microfinance institutions.
Constitution of committees at the village level, institution of help lines, and production of short films and documentaries on womens problems will be taken up, according to a media statement issued by Mrs Tripurana Venkataratnam and Mrs K. Gita Murthy, President and Coordinator of the United Womens Forum. S Manorama, Kalpavalli and Subhashini Vice Presidents, Ogeti Sridevi, Shaheeda Begum and Paduri Karuna General Secretaries, Keerthi Treasurer and Aruna Media Coordinator have been named the office bearers.
