APIC ruling on IAS, Officers assets welcomed Hyderabad, Nov 16 (INN): Lok Satta Party president Jayaprakash Narayan on Tuesday, complimented the Andhra Pradesh Information Commission for ruling that assets of IAS and other officials furnished to the Government from time to time should be revealed under the Right to Information Act. He added that the asset details of not merely IAS officials but all officials, elected peoples representatives and members of the judiciary should be available for public scrutiny.
The media also should subject these asset statements to critical scrutiny, based on the reputation of the official, the manner of obtaining the asset, the concealment of assets through benami transactions, the life-style of the official and other relevant factors. What is not disclosed is often far more significant than the disclosures themselves.
