GHMC seals three eateries for unhygienic conditions Hyderabad, Nov 16 (INN): The Health and Sanitation Wing of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation on Tuesday closed down three eateries for failing to maintain hygienic conditions. The sealing of the eateries came after a special team conducted surprise inspections in areas of Balkampet and Ameerpet. The special team consisted of Assistant Medical Officers of Health and Food Inspectors with related staff and Enforcement Vehicle. The three eateries, Gold Bawarchi Restaurant, Sarovar Restaurant and Bar at Balkampet and Anu Restaurant and Bar in Ameerpet were also prosecuted for violating the Bye-Laws of the HMC Bye-Laws for the Regulation of Eating Houses (or) Hotels, 1973.
The GHMC also warned hotel owners to maintain their kitchen and premises in hygienic condition and also provide wholesome drinking water and serve freshly prepared food to the customers. The GHMC Health Wing also warned that periodical inspections of all the eating establishments will be carried out throughout the Corporation limits by the respective assistant Medical Officers of Health and Food Inspectors and surprise inspections will be carried out where and when necessary.
