Lorries collide, drivers killed Khammam, Nov 18 (INN): At least two lorry drivers were killed and one cleaner suffered injuries in a road mishap which took place at Vepalgadda village, Kottagudem mandal in Khammam district, early on Thursday morning. According to Sub-Inspector Naresh, the mishap occurred when a speeding lorry, laden with sand and proceeding towards Hyderabad from Bhadrachalam collided with another lorry travelling to Bhadrachalam from Ongole. The victims were identified as Nanduru Hanumanth Raju (41), from Guntur district and Sama Ramesh Reddy (25), from Nalgonda district. They both died on the spot.
Srinivas Rao (51), the cleaner of one of the lorries, suffered serious injuries. He was rushed to hospital and is presently undergoing treatment. He is said to be in a stable condition. Police reached the spot on getting information and later shifted the victims to Government hospital for autopsy. A case has been registered under section 304-A and further investigations are on.
