Three vehicle lifters nabbed, 93 bikes recovered Hyderabad, Nov 30 (INN): City police on Tuesday arrested three vehicle lifters under various police stations and recovered 93 motor cycles from their possession. According to police, the accused Mohammed Zameer (20), who was addicted to luxury life, started lifting motor cycles and sell them to needy people in the way of disposal. The police arrested Zameer when he was busy in disposing the stolen vehicles and recovered five motorcycles from him. According to City Crime Station Police, another accused Hari Koti Lenin Babu (38) was arrested and 20 stolen two wheelers recovered from his possession. During investigation, the police recovered 55 abandoned two wheelers from the MGBS parking place. According to Habeebnagar Police, the vehicle lifter Susheel Sagar was arrested and 13 motor cycles recovered from him worth Rs 6.5 lakh.
Rs 22.9 lakh snatching case: four held
Hyderabad, Nov 30 (INN): City police on Tuesday managed to crack the sensational robbery case in which Rs 22.9 lakh were snatched from a jeweller from Karnataka at the busy Madina Crossroads on November 3 by arresting four persons. According to police, Mohammed Farooq (28), Niyamath Khan (24), Mohd Najeeb (29), Shaik Waheed (24), were taken into police custody, while hunt was going on to nab Syed Nazeeb (25), Shakeel and Mohammed Haji Khan (32). On credible information, the police nabbed Mohd Najeeb, who on interrogation confessed that he came to Hyderabad from Bidar along with his family to eke out a livelihood.
Najeeb confessed that he along with has friends Farooq, Syed Najeeb, Haji and Shakeel from Bidar of Karnataka State had committed the theft based on a tip off from Akash, who is also their friend, working in cloth shop in Bidar. Farooq said Jaganath, an employee of Vijay Jewellers in Bidar often visited Hyderabad along with huge cash for the purchase of Jewellery at Charminar. They hatched a plan to the cash from Jaganath and successfully snatched the money from him in broad daylight at Madina Building Crossroads.
Jaganath Mishra was travelling in an auto-rickshaw while on his way to a jeweller's shop at Gulzar Houz when two unidentified motorcycle-borne persons threw chilli powder into his eyes and snatched the bag containing Rs 22.9 lakh. The thieves managed to get away from the spot before anyone could react and realise what had just happened. Even the traffic police personnel present on the spot were taken unaware by the turn of events. The police recovered property worth of Rs 8 lakh from them while the remaining amount is to be recovered from absconding persons.
ACB raids the residence of PR DEE
Hyderabad, Nov 30 (INN): Anti Corruption Bureau sleuths on Tuesday conducted raids on the residence of Qutubullapur Panchayat Raj Deputy Executive Engineer and unearthed disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to the ACB Officials, accused officer was identified as Bathula Gnanam Goud. So far assets valuing more than Rs 50 lakhs were unearthed during these searches. The market value of these assets is estimated to be much higher.
The assets include one house, 9 house plots, 8.9 acres of agricultural land, gold of 210 grams, half kilo gram of silver, household articles worth about Rs 4,00,000 and bank deposits of Rs 61,000, Car and scooter. Two bank lockers are still to be checked.
Mr Bathula Gnanam Goud, is being arrested and will be produced before Special Judge for ACB Cases, Hyderabad.
APEPDCL AE in ACB net
Hyderabad, Nov 30 (INN): Anti Corruption Bureau sleuths red-handed caught APEPDCL assistant engineer when he demanded and accepted bribe from a person. According to the ACB officials, accused officer identified as a Katuru Malaki (34) was caught red handed at his residence when he demanded and accepted an amount of Rs 40,000 as bribe from a person for showing officials favour of to process the applications of the father of the complainant and to help them to get four new electrical meter connections issued to their house. Mr Katuru Malaki was arrested and is being produced before the Court for Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Vijayawada.
Two killed as crane jig falls on them
Nalgonda, Nov 30 (INN): In a freak mishap, two men working as helpers in a steel polishing plant were killed when the Jig of a crane fell on them at Lingojigudem village, Chotuppal mandal in Nalgonda district on Tuesday. According to Sub-Inspector Srinivas, the two, V Harish about 30-years-old and B Raju about 25-years-old, were shifting heavy iron roads in the plant for polishing them with sulphuric acid when the jig of crane fell on them, leaving them seriously injured. Mr Srinivas said that the jig was not properly fixed to the crane. Their co-workers, who were working close by had a providential escape as the falling jig missed them by a short distance. Both Harish and Raju hailed from Jharkhand and had migrated in search of livelihood. They were rushed to the nearest hospital where they were pronounced dead on arrival. The victims used to shift heavy weight iron rods and polish them with chemicals like sulphuric acid. A case has been registered and further investigations are on.
Three die in separate road mishaps
Hyderabad, Nov 30 (INN): Three persons killed in a various road accidents under different police station limits in the city. According to Punjagutta Sub-Inspector Srinivas Reddy, Narayana Rao (22), a resident of Ramanthapur, who was working as chef in a hostel at Ameerpet, was killed when he lost control over the motorcycle and hit road divider at Somajiguda. He succumbed to injuries in the hospital on Monday. In another accident occurred at Begumpet, Lakshman (38), a goldsmith, a resident of Purana pool, died of his injuries which he sustained when he came under the wheels while getting down from an RTC bus at Ameerpet on November 23. He was rushed to Gandhi hospital where in succumbed while undergoing treatment on Tuesday morning. According to Kushaiguda police, Ashok Raj (25), who sustained serious injuries when a unidentified vehicle hit his motor cycle at Sharadha Theater, died while undergoing treatment at hospital on Monday night. Raj was resident of Sainikpuri.
Missing woman's body found
Hyderabad, Nov 30 (INN): The body of a physically challenged woman, who went missing, was found in a lake under suspicious circumstance under Alwal police station limits. According to Sub-Inspector K Laskshman Rao, the victim Manoranjani (36), a widow of Srinivas, was a resident of Old Alwal. Ten years ago she got married to Srinivas. Her son was passed away in 2004 followed by her husband within one year. Since last three months she was suffering from ill health. Police had registered a missing case. On Tuesday morning, Manoranjani's body was found in Jonnabanda Lake in Alwal.
