Babri Masjid demolition day: Section 144 in city Hyderabad, Dec 3 (INN): City Police Commissioner A K Khan on Friday stated that Section 144 will be in effect in the city from 6 am on December 5 till 6 am December 7 in connection with the anniversary of demolition of the Babri Masjid at Ayodhya on December 6. Talking to media persons after convening a security review meeting at the office of the South Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr Khan he said that 30 platoons of APSP, RAF and city police have been deployed to meet any untoward situation.
He said making of any speeches, gesture or displaying pictures, symbols, placards, flags which are likely to create religious animosity between communities have been prohibited. The police chief said rallies, conventions, and dharnas have been banned on that day. He called upon all people to observe restraint and cooperate with the police. Earlier, the police commissioner offered Friday prayers at the Shujaiah Masjid in the old city.
